Francis Harrison Pierpont (printed form completed by hand) and discharge, 1865 July 16 to Thomas C. Parks from the 2nd Regiment West Virginia Vet. Infantry Volunteers (printed form completed by hand).

Francis Harrison Pierpont (1814-99), Union leader in Virginia during the Civil War, head of the government set up by the Wheeling Convention of June, 1861, and governor of "restored" Virginia (i.e., that part of the state under federal control but not incorporated in West Virginia).
